**Spoilers Ahead**
There’s
no doubt that Frank is on the list of worst dads out there. If he’s not out
drinking or getting high or scamming people for their money, he’s most likely
doing something to make his kids hate him even more than they already do. While
he occasionally tries to be a dad, it’s gotten to the point where no one believes
him enough to care. Frank may pretend to care about his kids, but at the end of
the day he will do anything that will benefit him in any way shape or form.
Here are 5 times Frank proved he is the absolute worst:
1. Season 2-
When Frank doesn’t tell Dottie that a match was found
This
poor lady was suffering enough waiting for a new heart, and of course Frank had
to ruin everything. This was a classic case of Frank, manipulating someone to
mooch off their money and home. Dottie was suffering enough not being able to
do anything that could escalate her heart rate, but why would Frank care. On
top of that, Dottie actually enjoyed Frank’s companionship after a while and looked
to be a bit happier. Frank proves that he will always put himself before
everyone else when he hears the beep that notifies Dottie when a match for a
heart is available, and then doesn’t tell her. The poor women had been waiting
for this heart for who knows how long and Frank proves how heartless he is by
taking away the one chance she had to survive. Good job Frank.
2. Season 3- When
he tells Carl he has cancer to get money
Leave
it to Frank to use his kids for his own financial gain any chance he gets. Why
would he actually make money of his own when he could just use his kids to
guilt trip people into making him some money? Posing Liam as a homeless child and
having him beg for money? Way easier than making a decent living and earning
the money I guess. We know Frank is crazy, but telling Carl he had cancer brings
him to another level of desperate. Not only did he cause Carl to stress about
dying, but he took an unfortunate situation that actually happens to people to make
money. Typical Frank.
3. Season 3-
When he called DFS on the kids
Frank
is capable of doing a lot of messed up things, but this was a new all time low.
Fiona did all she could to raise the kids when Frank and Monica weren’t around
and Frank thanks her by taking the kids away. As if he wasn’t already the cause
of all of Fiona’s stress, he just had to add something else to the list of
things that she had to worry about. Not to mention, he sells out his own kids
to get back at them. Real fatherly Frank.
4. Season 4-
When Frank gets a liver transplant and keeps drinking
Not
like this would be a wake up call or anything. Not to Frank. He just sees the
new liver as a fresh start to keep drinking. Time and time again Frank gets another
chance at life and he takes it for granted, going back to his old ways. Frank
seems like he’s so grateful to have lived yet he resorts back to drinking
without a care in the world. Not surprising.
5. Season 6- When
Frank calls Sean out on his addiction at Fiona’s wedding
Fiona
was finally happy and found real love with Sean, but of course things wouldn’t
be normal if Frank wasn’t there to mess everything up. Not only does he show up
drunk to her wedding, but then he starts saying a bunch of things that were not
in his place to say. He doesn’t even care that he hurts Fiona either even as she
breaks down. Yea it was good that Fiona found out that Sean was still shooting up
before they got married, but this was not the way to do it.
Frank
has his good and bad moments, but the bad moments will always be too much to
ignore. While sometimes he tries to regain the love of his children, they know
that even if they give him the slightest chance they will be disappointed once
again. I would say “Can Frank be any worse?” but he’s proved that, yes, he can
be a lot worse than we could ever imagine.
