5 Times Debbie Gallagher Made Us Want To Flip Out

**Spoilers Ahead**

Debbie Gallagher is one of those characters that you want to like, but can’t help wanting to slap. While she was often the clutch sibling who would take care of Liam when no one else could and would run the day care over the summer, she eventually grows old enough to annoy us every chance she gets. Yea, she sometimes comes through and deserves some praise, but then she does something that makes us go back to hating her a few minutes later. Here are 5 times you couldn’t help but want to flip out on Debbie:

1. Season 5-When Debbie starts hanging out with Holly and her friends and begins dressing promiscuous.
Yea, granted Debbie had Fiona to look up to as far as style goes, but that didn’t mean Debbie had to be so extreme. Debbie’s constant attitude and scandalous clothing make us wish she could’ve stayed her adorable little self forever. She goes from being a good student and adorable child to being your typical rebellious teen. Why she would choose Holly, the one who embarrassed her at the pool, out of all people to be her friend? Who knows? All I know is that this new Debbie was not the Debbie I expected her to be.

2. Season 5- When she’s obsessed with losing her virginity.
If you look up the word ‘desperate’ in the dictionary, season 5 Debbie is sure to be the image that pops up. Debbie is the type to want to do something and then stay committed to it. This was one of those times and she couldn’t have been any more annoying. As if Holly wasn’t already a bad influence, she just had to go on and make Debbie feel like she HAD to lose her virginity. This is the last thing Debbie needed especially since she’s the type to set her mind to something and not stop until it’s done. It took Matty being drunk in her bed for her to lose it and we all know how that ends up for her.

3. Season 5- When she purposely got pregnant.
As soon as Tanya tells Debbie that Derek’s family was so welcoming after she had his brother’s baby, you could almost see the light bulb go off in Debbie’s head. As if we didn’t see her pregnancy coming. You almost want to feel bad for Debbie because all she wanted was to be taken in by a family who cared about her, but at the same time, that wasn’t the way to do it. Her sneakily telling Derek that she had taken the pill when she hadn’t just makes you want to forget all the reasons you liked her. You can’t help wanting to flip out on Debbie when she finds out she is pregnant and is excited about it and then on top of everything lies to Fiona about it. Way to go Debbie!

4. Season 6- When Debbie doesn’t listen to Fiona and falls asleep with the baby.
Everyone warned her about what could happen if she didn’t get enough sleep, but why would Debbie listen, ever. As if we didn’t know Fiona was going to be right about Debbie having a baby, Debbie just proves how unprepared she was to have Franny. You can almost sense that something bad is going to happen as we watch Debbie slowly drifting to sleep as she holds Franny. Well that’s what you get for not listening to Fiona, again Debbie.

5. Season 7-When she goes to the laundromat asking Fiona to sign for her to get married.
Not like Fiona was dealing with her own mess, as usual, but then Debbie comes out of nowhere expecting Fiona to drop everything for her. Her constant attitude towards Fiona is enough to make you want to just tell her to shut up, but then she comes at a time when Fiona didn’t need the extra drama. Instead of being understanding and asking Fiona to help her when she got the chance, Debbie continues her nagging until Fiona has to do what she normally does and yell at her. Yea, she was at risk of losing Franny, but chill Debbie…cut Fiona some slack for once.

Debbie is the definition of having no chill. She is constantly going extra hard at everything and in the end she’s left to deal with whatever she got herself into. Don’t get me wrong Debbie, you have your moments, but sometimes those moments can’t make up for all the things you do.
